Application: Code Editor (TermCode IDE) • Developer: Kamaljit • Effective Date: October 2, 2026

1. Overview & Privacy-First Philosophy

Welcome to Code Editor (TermCode IDE). We value your privacy above all else. This Privacy Policy outlines our strict commitment to safeguarding your information while using our mobile application and official web portal (https://code-eidter-apk-website.vercel.app/).

Code Editor is built with an offline-first, zero-telemetry philosophy. We do not collect, track, store, or sell any of your personal data.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike conventional cloud-based coding platforms, Code Editor operates locally on your Android device:

  • No Personal Identity Info: We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or government IDs.
  • No Account Credentials: No registration, login, or passwords are required to use any feature of the app.
  • No Financial Data: The application is completely free. We do not collect credit cards, banking info, or billing data.
  • No Telemetry or Tracking: We do not integrate advertising trackers, behavioral tracking SDKs, or invasive analytics.

3. Permissions Requested & Their Purpose

The application requests only the minimum Android runtime permissions essential for code editing and native compilation:

  • Storage Access (READ/WRITE/MANAGE EXTERNAL STORAGE): Allows you to open, edit, create, and save your source code files (e.g. .py, .c, .java, .cpp, .html) in folders of your choice on your device. Your files never leave your device.
  • Internet Access (INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used solely to download pre-compiled, verified compiler toolchains from our official GitHub Releases CDN when you choose to run code, and to check for optional app updates. No user data or code is ever sent over the network.

4. On-Device Code Execution & Security

All compilation, execution, and terminal processes run directly on your phone's CPU inside a sandboxed Linux userland environment (/data/data/com.rajkumar.codereditor/files/usr/).

All temporary binaries (such as .out or .class files) are stored in an isolated cache directory (.bin_cache) and automatically purged after 24 hours to protect your storage and device security.

5. Third-Party Advertisements & Links

Code Editor is 100% Ad-Free. We do not serve third-party ads. The application may provide optional direct links to our official website or official open-source GitHub repository for documentation and community support.

6. Children's Privacy

Our application is safe for students, hobbyists, and learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Compliance with Indian IT Laws

This policy complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
